You only need to be 18 to take this course to get your Utah CFP. Minors can also take this course, if accompanied by a parent. At the end of class, I will issue you a certificate and do your fingerprinting, photo and BCI application all before you leave.
Retired Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy/UPD Officer Phil Snyder here. I will be your Utah CFP Instructor for this class. I bring 30 years of Utah law enforcement training and experience to share with you in the classroom. You can have serious legal consequences with bad instruction, as I have seen as a Utah law enforcement officer personally where this CFP student was charged with aggravated assault and lost his rights to own a gun for life, due to poor concealed carry training. I don’t want that to happen to you and your family!
Fingerprinting and photos can be done in class before you leave: I will have a trained, BCI approved fingerprint/photo technician taker at the class to take your photos and fingerprints for a fee of 15.00 each. BCI will charge you a fee of 53.25 for a five-year license, IF you want them to do your background check and their fee to issue you a permit, has nothing to do with my charges. We will help you fill out your BCI application before you leave and have you ready to go!
