My name is Phil Snyder, and I’m excited to welcome you to my Texas CCW online course and in-person course. With over 30 years of law enforcement and public service experience, I provide students with practical knowledge, real-world examples, and the legal understanding needed to responsibly carry under Texas law.
Law Enforcement Experience
I am a retired Unified Police Officer from Salt Lake City, Utah, where I served in multiple assignments: patrol, Field Training Officer (FTO), and mental health/crisis intervention. As an FTO, I trained new recruits and shared strategies for handling high-stress, real-life situations safely and effectively.
Court and Legal Experience
I also spent 8 years working in the Utah Courts as a Deputy Constable, giving me unique insight into court procedures, legal processes, and real-life case outcomes. This experience allows me to provide students with practical lessons about the responsibilities and potential consequences of carrying a firearm, which is directly relevant to Texas CCW holders.
Texas CCW Instructor Certification
In September 2025, I earned my Texas License to Carry Handgun Instructor Certification from Texas DPS. I now teach both online courses and in-person Texas CCW classes, combining law enforcement, mental health, and court experience to give students a comprehensive understanding of safe and legal concealed carry.
