Pistol defense - would you survive a gun fight?

With all of the rise in violent crime that is being covered by the news, rise in murders, car jackings, assaults and home invasion robberies, now is a great time to train in pistol defense so that you will have the best chance at being a winner when bad things come knocking on your door. You will perform at the level of your highest level of training you have received.

Concealed Carry Class Utah is proud to offer pistol defense training to all private citizens. Instructor is a retired Utah police officer and will be the instructor for this course. This is not a beginner course, a basic pistol course is a prerequisite to take this course, (basic pistol classes are available here as well), alternatively on a case by case basis, a basic course may be waived, if in the opinion of the Instructor the student has the basic skills to start at this higher level training.

The defensive pistol course will be about 16 hours long, it can be divided up into 4 hour blocks and be done over time several days, or nights. It will be about 12 hours in the class room and 4 hours on the gun range.  Coming out on top in a deadly force encounter against a violent attacker is more than just good shooting, it involves having the student training under stressful conditions, having a warrior mindset in surviving the encounter, being well versed in Utah self defense law with a firearms and knowing how to handle the aftermath of a traumatic incident that happens when you are involved in a deadly force encounter. In this class, we will cover including but not limited to the following.

  1. In depth discussion on Utah self defense law and your constitutional rights.
  2. Learning pistol skills to shoot quickly and accurately under the stress.
  3. Pistol shooting tactics and skills to survive
  4. Situational awareness, the color chart and what it means.
  5. Role play and scenario training.
  6. Don’t be a victim
  7. The warrior mindset, combat shooting skills to stay alive
  8. Relations with law enforcement officers after a use of force encounter, starting with the 911 call and what to expect when the police arrive
  9. Building clearing basics and more.

Pistol defense is 500.00 per person and is limited to 4 students. All drills will be drawing from the holster, using cover/concealment and will be timed shots.

You will need to bring your carry gun, at least 9mm, a duty style holster, at least two extra magazines, magazine pouch at least 200 rounds of ammunition, pay your range fee of 15.00 and have eye and ear protection.

We do the class room at our Taylorsville Office and do the range portion at TNT Range in Murray. We encourage women to take this course and can arrange private women’s group classes of at least 4.
