Step 3: Apply for Your Texas License to Carry
Once your LTC-101 is complete and your shooting proficiency form is signed by your instructor, you are ready to apply through the Texas DPS website.
Texas LTC Eligibility Requirements (Overview)
To qualify for a Texas License to Carry:
You must be at least 18 years old
Have no disqualifying criminal history
Meet federal and state eligibility standards
The license fee is $40.00, and your Texas LTC is valid for 5 years.
During the application process, you will:
